Draymond Green passionately responds to critics accusing him of avoiding Lakers-loss discussion on podcast, labeling their remarks as ‘pathetic’.

Warriors star Draymond Green had a fiery response to those that believed he wouldn’t discuss the Nuggets sweeping the Lakers in the Western Conference finals on his podcast.

Green, who’s known for candidly speaking his mind on the Volume Sports show, fired back at critics that claimed he was “hurt” after his good friend LeBron James and the Lakers were swept on their home floor in a 113-111 Game 4 loss on Monday.

“By the way for all of y’all out there that was like, ‘Ah man, the Lakers lost and Draymond won’t do a podcast,’” Green said on the latest installment of “The Draymond Green Show” on Tuesday. “I play for the Golden State Warriors.

“Some of you people are so pathetic in the beliefs you allow yourself to believe, and I can absolutely understand why life don’t be so great — because the beliefs that you allow to enter your mind about someone else, really is a reflection of what you believe and think of yourself and how you operate in things.

“So I thought that was a very interesting thing that people were like, ‘Ah man, they lost. Draymond don’t want to talk, he’s hurt, like what?”

Green went on to say that he’s been absent from the airwaves due to a postseason vacation following Golden State’s second round ouster at the hands of the Lakers.

The Lakers defeated the defending champion Warriors 122-101 in Game 6 of the conference semifinals earlier this month to advance to face Denver.

“Actually I’m on vacation and having a margarita so cheers to all of you — margarita made with Lobos tequila,” Green explained before taking a sip of his drink.

“Absolutely incredible… Toast to you all that that was your whatever… however, a lot of people better be lucky I took the weekend off,” he said, adding that it was his first weekend off since September 2022.

Green and James, along with Lakers big man Anthony Davis are investors in the tequila brand, Lobos 1707 — and are often seen promoting it together at star-studded gatherings.

Green has been linked to the Lakers since late last year, around the same time a video leaked from inside the Warriors facility in October 2022, that showed him punch his teammate, Jordan Poole in the face.

Following the video’s release, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith said on “First Take” that Green “would prefer to be a Laker.”

The four-time NBA champion has a $27.6 million player option for next season with Golden State — but has an opt-out clause in his contract that would allow him to test free agency and potentially join another team on a long-term deal.

In a separate episode of his podcast, Green said he and his agent — Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who also serves as James’ agent — have yet to discuss his future.

Green, did however, say that he spoke with his Warriors teammates Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and expressed their desire to stick together in Golden State.

As for James?

The 38-year-old addressed his playing future on Monday, and cryptically said he has “a lot to think about” this offseason.
