Shakira’s Dazzling Debut at the Met Gala – A Flawless Red Carpet Moment

The Colombian artist was dressed in an outfit that took inspiration from the theme of “The Garden of Time.”

Shakira has just made her grand entrance at the iconic Met Gala 2024 staircase. Tonight marked the Colombian singer’s first appearance at the renowned fashion event, where she walked alongside Wes Gordon, the creative mind behind Carolina Herrera. She dazzled in a striking red outfit, custom-designed by Gordon to fit the “Garden of Time” theme. Her bold strapless gown boasted intricate cut-out accents and sleeves that elegantly transformed into a flowing train.

She combined the stunning outfit with a classic Cartier brooch adorned with trapeze-shaped diamonds and a large Burmese ruby cabochon weighing around 30 carats, along with a dazzling diamond necklace and elegant ruby and diamond rings.

Gordon, on the other hand, was dressed sharply in a suit and sported three vintage diamond brooches from Boucheron dating back to the 1960s on his jacket lapel.

The Met Gala happening tonight is all about honoring the Costume Institute’s latest spring exhibition titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Showcasing around 250 unique items from the institute’s collection, dating back 400 years, the event will highlight some hidden gems such as a 17th-century bodice from the Elizabethan era, iconic pieces by Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior, as well as contemporary designs from renowned designers like Phillip Lim and Stella McCartney.

Today, the talented Grammy Award winner hinted at her appearance by sharing a photo on her Instagram stories of a display featuring beautiful creations from the Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibition. Tonight, Shakira will be gracing the red carpet for the first time since the release of her 12th studio album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women No Longer Cry), in March. It’s been almost six months since her last red carpet appearance at the 24th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in November 2023.
