This past weekend, families wandered through a winter wonderland with the Currys.

NBA player Steph Curry and his wife Ayesha Curry celebrated their eleventh annual Christmas celebration together on Sunday.

The Currys supported families during their winter wonderland event at Oakland’s The Bridge Yard by giving relief to 2,000 people in need, 500 of whom were children, through their nonprofit Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation.

The Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation was established in 2019 by the Currys with the intention of fostering a healthy childhood by eradicating childhood hunger, granting access to education, and creating safe areas for children to play.

The families invited to the event were chosen by the foundation’s partners, Oakland Athletic League, Black Culture Zone, East Oakland Youth Development Center, Community Education Partnerships, and Homes Empowerment, according to Good Morning America.

“We are concerned about our community and understand that parents already have a lot on their plates, and that this time of year can be especially challenging for them. Our objective for Christmas with the Currys is to alleviate this burden for Oakland’s impoverished families and ensure that they are a part of a community that brings joy to the holidays.

The Currys organized an amazing day of activity for the participants, which included sugar cookie baking, food trucks, ice skating, snowball battles, and sledding. The guests were also given the opportunity to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

The Currys claimed that they learned “how big of an impact the gift of giving can make in one family’s life” from the event.

At the Curry party were Olympic figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, her husband, Stanley Cup champion Bret Hedican, and Workday Chairperson Aneel Bhusri.
